Archbishop Sergio Abad calls for lifting unilateral economic measures on Syria

Santiago, SANA- Monsignor Sergio Abad, Archbishop of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of Santiago and all of Chile, has called for the lifting the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people.

Visiting the Syrian Embassy in Santiago, Archbishop Abad stressed that the circumstances the world is going through these days necessitate all Syrians to unite their ranks and stand by their country and leadership.

He called for lifting the unilateral coercive Western economic measures that target  the Syrians’ basic life necessities.

Monsignor Abad expressed his happiness for visiting the embassy, ​​which he described as the home of all Syrians, where he met with members of the embassy and a number of the Syrian community members in Chile.

For his part, the Chargé de ’Affairs at the embassy, ​​Minister Counselor Ayham al-Malazi, affirmed that the embassy will always remain a warm home for all Syrians abroad and will work to strengthen the relationship with the expatriates, serve their issues and help solve the problems they face.
