Homs, SANA – Mohammad al-Sawas won the Republic Cup title in the badminton men’s singles championship held in Tartous province.

Al-Sawas, who is member of the national badminton team and Homs team, won 2-0 over Eyad Awad of the central al-Shurta Club.

58 male players and 47 female players took part in the Republic Cup Championship for provinces’ teams.

In the women’s competition, Sanaa Mahmoud of the central al-Shurta Club won the title, beating Taghrid al-Jallad of the central al-Jaish Club 2-0.
